Staff Manual

An important requirement for all companies, large or small, is a Staff Manual. This sets out all the company rules on hours of work, overtime policy, annual leave, policy on sick leave, staff out of pocket expenses, compassionate leave, policy on company cars, compliance matters such as Health and Safety, IT security and the company policy on the use of the company computers for personal use, bullying in the workplace and disciplinary matters etc.

If staff know the rules and know the consequences of breaking them, there will be fewer unnecessary cases brought to the Employment Tribunal.
